Great to see the worsening COVID crisis getting the attention it deserves...
- throwaway6734 6y agoThey put off on voting on this before the election to focus on Covid legislation. The congress is more than capable of doing multiple things at once.
- minikites 6y agoIt's impossible to do more than one thing at a time?
- space_ghost 6y agoYup. The Senate is a Single Input Queue.
- nemothekid 6y agoThe house isn't the branch of government holding up the stimulus. McConnell has been sitting on a stimulus bill since July.
- mywittyname 6y agoThe government is capable of multi-tasking. There are talks going on for continuing stimulus. Vaccines are now approved by the CDC and will roll out shortly. Plus, state & local governments are continuing to provide updates on the status of their hospitals. COVID-19 is still a dedicated category on Google News, and other news sites. Nobody is ignoring it.
- frankbreetz 6y agoThe house passed covid relief bill in June and then again in October. What more do you want from them? It takes two to negotiate
- dragonwriter 6y agoThe House and Senate are, in fact, in heavy negotiations on a bipartisan ~$1T COVID aid package that apparently Pelosi and McConnell have both agreed should be attached to the spending bill nevesy to avoid a government shutdown. It's not like the House (or Senate) can only work on one bill at a time.
- BHSPitMonkey 6y agoWe sure could reduce a lot of unnecessary spread by having people no longer physically moved in and out of police cars, jails, courthouses, and prisons for no good reason.
