We have a government that has consistently told us that all news is fake, that elections are fake, that inconvenient reality is fake. News organizations have intentionally blurred the lines between "news" and "entertainment" to the extent that many consumers can't tell the difference any more. Entertainers presenting as reporters tell us the lies they think their audiences will be receptive to and now we wonder why there are issues of trust.
