I know, many languages are. Why would that directly influence the efficiency of the compiler?
- reikonomusha 6y agoCommon Lisp not only explicitly has the notion of compilation as a part of the language definition and standard library, but the language is/was also traditionally seen as ripe for native compilation. Efficient and serious compilation of Lisp dates back to at least the late 70s.
