A few years ago I saw a video about a side of hate tattoos that I had not considered: there are tattoo artists who do charity by covering up hate tattoos of people who legitimately want to turn over a new leaf (but who cannot afford to have tattoo fixup done at regular price). While it may be callous to bring the hippocratic oath card to "uphold medical standards" in such stressful times, it may be of consolation that there's a small chance that a tattoo no longer necessarily represents the views of the wearer. If this tattooed man survived, hopefully he will take the experience of having his life saved as a hint to re-evaluate his beliefs.
