- hedora 6y agoLatency to “the cloud” is 10-20ms for most people in the US. (Assuming they’re connecting directly to the closest regional data center.)
- acdha 6y agoYour assumption is very optimistic for a number of people: a generation of security policy wanted everything routed through central monitoring points so you get home network -> vpn -> corporate data center -> remote server and back, all in the hope that the monitoring system would see malicious traffic (since attackers know how to use encryption & obfuscation, this is usually easily bypassed).
- matsemann 6y agoA few years ago I had work on a thin-client for a client. After a while I didn't notice, I think my brain just got slower, heh.
