Does this mean these Scottish heros were more largely aristocrats having powerplay land grabs with their southern cousins?
- corty 6y agoYes. Mostly the aristocracy of the lowland parts of Scotland just convinced the (more tribally organized) highlanders to fight in their wars. Scottish independence and separateness became just a theme to gather supporters among Scotts, not really an aim as movies suggest.
