It saves google a very large amount of money if every chrome browser opens http3 connections to google.com on startup instead of the layered stack. You don’t see much of an effort to deprecate the layered stack and in my opinion that’s because standardizing http3 is enough to lower their costs, what other server hosts do is irrelevant to their bottom line.
