I don't get the 'happiness' aspect of this.
It just looks like a list of personal preferences. I would like to think that ideas for cultivating happiness goes a little deeper.
- achompas 15y agoNo doubt that personal, life-encompassing happiness takes more than a set of computing preferences. With that said, Payne's rules seem to minimize frustration with the computing experience. He won't list "spend time with your SO and child" on here.
- JoeAltmaier 15y agoIts more like "for minimum stress". Arguably not for maximum productivity - I violate a good dozen of the rules because of the job I do. And yes it causes stress, but that's life.
- runjake 15y agoYou're over-analyzing. Alex is just providing a list for his list of preferences for a minimal stress computing experience.
