As an aside, a way to do old things that haven't been done yet is to do them on a new platform. So, old games got rewritten in flash, then javascript, iOS and HTML5. Every other app got rewritten as a webapp - and I bet the same is happening right now for iOS. Maybe not appropriate for every beginner.
