I'm by no means an SOC expert so am perplexed by a couple of things:
1. Why the 4-3-1 setup? More specifically, why couldn't Qualcomm fit all 4 X1 cores on the same package?
2. Why did they decide to change the naming scheme? SD875 was completely sensible given the incremental improvements but instead...we get 888.
On paper it seems underwhelming given the node shrink to 5nm (albeit Samsung instead of TSMC). Main selling point is on-package modem and perhaps NPU performance (~100%), not the CPU or even GPU.
