You are right, it's far from perfect and I guess no one else has done this before.
As mentioned in my blog, I have to take some more data into account to make it a truly meaningful metric, but we will eventually get there :)
- zepto 6y agoI’d say the reason nobody has done this before is because of the data quality issue. Years owned is simply not a measure of a product lifetime. I am not sure where you will get a meaningful lifetime metric from anywhere other than perhaps recyclers.
