I stopped celebrating Christmas back around 2010 I think? I told my family not to buy me anything, and I wouldn't buy them anything. My parents wrote my name on all the stuff given to nephews and nieces. My dad even offered to give me money and I refused it. Since then, I've had the best winters ever. I don't consume. I don't fret about gifts. If I want to give something special to someone I love, I do it at another time of the year. It might seem grinchy, but I don't feel that way. I feel better about myself for getting away from consumerism.
