Thats what I thought when I first heard about Tesla... I.E.: why would Elon steal an historical name?
- gwern 6y agoWell, he didn't. Tesla was named 'Tesla' by the founders, not Musk. And Tesla the man was more obscure back then than he is now (and that's in large part thanks to Tesla the company plus various pop culture ephemera like a certain webcomic).
