I'm not sure I'd take every grocery encounter at face value. Her whole story seems fishy. The China connection makes sense, but her testing positive 2-3 months after contacting the virus seems dubious at best. I was really sick in late December 2019. I live in the same county as the first US case and work in the neighboring county with the first widespread community spread. Do I think that I had COVID? No. If COVID was spreading in the US in December, with zero containment measures, I believe we would have seen a lot more cases by the time testing got underway in the spring.
