Puubl: Privacy in a Search Engine
- sova 6y agoPay-per-click implies a surveillance network to track authentic clicks. What if search engines were privacy-first? What if a search engine had "billboard time" for advertising on search queries with a bidding system, rather than PPC? No user data would need to be stored because it doesn't matter how many times one person clicks the same ad. Is privacy important to users in 2020? People treat privacy like access to their credit card -- they are not that concerned. The problem is that there are no chargebacks in privacy land, once the info is out there, it's out there. Would you use a search provider that provided just-as-good results if they could guarantee you would not be tagged and tracked relentlessly?
