While I agree that we should have moved faster, even if you approved a vaccine candidate in days it's not clear who you'd vaccinate in a targeted campaign to "complete prevent" the pandemic. Being able to produce vast quantities of this stuff rapidly is ultimately going to be at least as important as streamlining the regulatory process. After almost a year we don't have even a fraction of what we need to vaccinate the population.
