It's better than nothing but clearly it doesn't seem to be a priority for them and the rest of my point still stands - they don't do nearly enough outside of their priorities.
- my123 6y agoIt is a priority. However, the macOS on arm64 port has only been revealed to everyone in June. These things take time.

- zepto 6y agoYou do realize homebrew has worked as well on Apple silicon since launch under Rosetta as it ever did on more Intel Macs? There is essentially no regression, and Apple is donating hardware to enable Homebrew to do the work to extract more performance from the new chips. What ‘more’ do you think they should do?
- blinkingled 6y agoContribute patches for all the blockers mentioned towards native homebrew in this post?
- my123 6y agoHomebrew does have a policy of not having downstream patches, so that source trees upstream have to have the Apple Silicon fixes. That makes the process much more complex.
- zepto 6y agoWhy should they do that? How is it in their responsibility? They haven’t impacted homebrew users negatively at all.
- alwillis 6y agoContribute patches for all the blockers mentioned towards native homebrew in this post? This is classic of the all or nothing attitude that anti-Apple and anti-Mac people have. Unless Apple does some Herculean task that shows they're worthy, they're shit.
