Effect of Vitamin D3 Supplementation vs. Placebo in Patients with Severe COVID19
- Khelavaster 6y agoThis study's incredibly underpowered. 33% more patients going to the ICU and dying in the placebo group, and 2x as many patients on mechanical ventilators in the placebo group, wasn't statistically significant. "The rate of mortality (7.0% vs 5.1%; P = .590), admission to ICU (15.8% vs 21.2%; P = .314), and mechanical ventilation requirement (7.0% vs 14.4%; P = .090)"

- verdverm 6y agoThis seems to miss the point you want good vitamin D levels before you get sick. Of course you will not see significant differences once things get bad. Other studies show a marked difference in hospital admittance in the first place. D3 is preventative and generally needed to make a ton of body processes function better (normally).
