Show HN: podcast-dl – CLI for downloading podcasts easily

• focus2020 6y ago
Cool. I am definitely missing this.

Config file for the 6 supported podcasts: https://www.github.com/kissgyorgy/simple-podcast-dl/tree/master/podcast_dl%2Fpodcasts.py https://www.github.com/kissgyorgy/simple-podcast-dl/tree/mas...

readme and (Supported podcasts) is confusing. Makes one think it only supports downloading six hard coded podcasts. I assume that is not correct?

It is correct, but: https://github.com/kissgyorgy/simple-podcast-dl/issues/17 https://github.com/kissgyorgy/simple-podcast-dl/issues/17

Requiring support for each podcast is an odd design choice...

Downloading by URL could be implemented, but I did not have the need for it.

Would it be possible to download this podcast? https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05xxhwb https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05xxhwb

gPodder is already pretty great at this and doesn't require per-podcast config files. Some time ago I even made a simple WebUI for it: https://github.com/nmaggioni/dashpodder https://github.com/nmaggioni/dashpodder
