Common Lisp Revival 2020 Fundraiser
- daly 6y agoI've been a lisper since 1971 and did reviews of the X3J13 Common Lisp Standard. I've been using Common Lisp on almost every project I do. Contrary to popular belief, and apparently your own belief, Common Lisp is doing fine. Language rankings are meaningless.
- thephoeron 6y agoSure, rankings are meaningless to us. But they matter to children, who still being primates of little to no distinction from the animal kingdom, really like to keep score. You know how kids are. They only hear what they want to hear. They sulk and throw tantrums. No reason for an adult to let it get under their skin. On the contrary, they look up to us, and need us to be solid.
- lispm 6y agoSeriously?
- bsg75 6y agoThis reads more like funding an ego trip than a project. The goals are obscured by self promotion.
- kazinator 6y agoThis developer has written a collection of gadgets for coding in Common Lisp, consisting of various convenience macros and such. Links to these are nicely grouped and collected here: https://www.hexstreamsoft.com/libraries/ https://www.hexstreamsoft.com/libraries/ Notwithstanding all of the hoopla surrounding that user's behavior, and inflated claims of his own importance, it is obvious to me that code like: https://github.com/Hexstream/place-utils/blob/master/main.lisp https://github.com/Hexstream/place-utils/blob/master/main.li... shows some solid Lisp skills.
