Show HN: SimpleLogin – protect online privacy using email alias
- sonmicrosystems 6y agoHi HN! We believe having a different identity for each website/service is an effective way to protect our privacy and that's why SimpleLogin is created. All components in SimpleLogin is open-source, including the server, website, browser extensions, and mobile apps. SimpleLogin can be self-hosted and supports security-oriented features like PGP, WebAuthn. The server is a Python/Flask application backed by PostgreSQL as database and Postfix as email MTA. The web front-end is coded with VueJS and Bootstrap for styling. Mobile apps are coded in native. We would love to hear your feedback. Thank you!
- defaultcompany 6y agoThis looks really interesting. I’ve been doing this separate email for everything for over ten years now just using my own manual setup and I swear by it. Glad to see you have made this whole project open source. Good work and good luck.
- purplecats 6y agosmart business idea because this is inherently lock-in the second you create any alias
- sonmicrosystems 6y agoYou can use your custom domain instead of the default domains.
