For the record, iMovie originally ran on Classic macOS 8 in 1999.
- musicale 6y agoYou are indeed correct, but 1999 is more "late 90s" and by that point the Macintosh (and Mac OS) had become vastly more powerful, with the PowerPC G3/G4, color graphics, GPUs, etc., not to mention advances in the web platform. Note I said "Classic Macs" (think compact Macintosh models with 68000 processors) rather than classic Mac OS. By 1999 the shift to OS X was also underway, with Mac OS X Server 1.0 released that year.
