I think it's best summed up by a tweet I saw last year:
Non-magic users: collect crystals, call their pet a familiar, draw pentagrams
Magic users:the most magical things I keep in my house are rocks, and I keep a hammer next to them in case they act up

My smart-house is bluetooth enabled and I can give it voice commands via alexa! I love the future! > Programmers / Engineers: The most recent piece of technology I own is a printer from 2004 and I keep a loaded gun ready to shoot it if it ever makes an unexpected noise. - sn41 6y agoI am currently reading "Sourcery" by Terry Pratchett. Your remark is literally one of the plot points of the story.
- noneeeed 6y agoI love his observations about the nature of magic and power. Terry is top of my list of people I wish I'd met while they were alive, he had a tremendously humane view of people and what makes for a good world.
