I agree with you in spirit but my experience is those data collection consent forms are mere formalities. I have seen my data collected/shared in numerous cases even when I didn't consent or affirm my agreement to such. Not trying to demoralize. My point is I want something with real teeth (legal teeth). Damage to a company's reputation can be repaired in a quarter or few.
