Ontology, Graphs and Turtles
- 1MachineElf 6y agoOntology excites me, so I'm grateful to have come across this while browsing HN today. I'm also glad to have discovered Jane, which is the author's well-chosen Hugo theme. Two birds with one stone!
- verdverm 6y agoYou might also find "graph unification" algorithms and Propagator Networks interesting as well. https://github.com/cuelang/cue/discussions/408 https://github.com/cuelang/cue/discussions/408
- agumonkey 6y agoVery interesting slides. Is there a connection with adjoint functors too ?
- verdverm 6y agoI'm not sure, but thanks for the rabbit hole. I would guess a yes though, given the slogan found on Wikipedia and that Cue is assoc & comm. https://cuelang.org/docs/concepts/logic/ https://cuelang.org/docs/concepts/logic/
- wyldfire 6y agoIt would be cool to find some kind of library or set of libraries that can map directly (disambiguate) NER in text to items in an ontology. Even if it were really rudimentary it would be really handy.
- gillesjacobs 6y agoYou should look into research on the Ontonotes dataset [1]. I have been experimenting with DyGIE++ model [2] which has a nice codebase and obtains good performance on other information extraction tasks too. 1. https://catalog.ldc.upenn.edu/LDC2013T19 https://catalog.ldc.upenn.edu/LDC2013T19 2. https://github.com/dwadden/dygiepp https://github.com/dwadden/dygiepp
- jonnydubowsky 6y agoI'm enjoying Part 1 of this post as much as Part 2: https://blog.owulveryck.info/2020/11/13/ontology-graphs-and-turtles-part-i.html https://blog.owulveryck.info/2020/11/13/ontology-graphs-and-...
- owulveryck 6y agoThank you, I am glad you enjoy the post
- dumb1224 6y agoMy work involves these semantic web technologies/ontologesi and I found the team is slowly but surely turning to more general graph-based tools such as Neo4j essentially abandoning triplestores. I wonder why the up take of triplestores are not massive? The tools and frameworks are excellent in my opinion but I find that not many tech people are interested in RDF/SPARQL/triplestores.
