Turning the Body into a Wire
- dkdk8283 6y agoI’m far more worried about my smartphone than pacemaker/insulin pump, however I don’t believe myself to be a target of state surveillance.
- swirepe 6y ago> however I don’t believe myself to be a target of state surveillance. lol
- txmachinery 6y ago"Targeted surveillance" as a concept, is mainly a relic from a bygone era. If you exist, everything you do is surveilled, both by the state and private interests.
- dkdk8283 6y agoIt’s worth noting specific types of surveillance are more expensive than others. I used to be part of a team with access to data not a lot of people could see. I limited my international travel due to it. It’s been years so anything I could even remember is useless now: significantly less paranoia.
- ddmma 6y agoIt’s called Body Area Network (BAN) and there are also standards like your router https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_area_network https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_area_network There are beds in hospitals that connect to the patients vitals, already.
- Brajeshwar 6y agoThe site did a weird thing for me. Is this because of the forced ad on the website. I recorded a video of the experience - https://www.dropbox.com/s/849ehk33unzrzfh/spectrum.ieee.org-ad.mp4?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/849ehk33unzrzfh/spectrum.ieee.org-...
- _hao 6y agoAs a martial arts practitioner when saw this title in my RSS feed I expected something completely different, alas it's not MA related.
- gioscarab 6y agoPJDL is a communication protocol I work on since 2010 that uses a single wire to connect up to 255 devices and can even operate using the human body as a conductor, here is the video of its operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWlhKD5lz5w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWlhKD5lz5w
