It's really hard to see how slack could survive as an independent company given that their product has been more or less stagnant while Teams has been eating their lunch on large accounts. I don't think their corporate culture let their product make the leap from "cute chat app used by Silicon Valley startups because it has emojis" to Enterprise-level support and functionality.
