A related question is why policy makers should trust experts with a history of lying.
- Veen 6y agoI don't know why they should, but I suspect I know why they do. It's the same reason the public supports policy makers and politicians with a history of lying. The willingness to tell convenient lies an in-group likes is more useful to them than a commitment to telling the truth.
- watwut 6y agoBecause that lying is not random and policy makers dont trust just any lying expert. Policy makers do trust experts that lie in a way that policy makers find convenient and pleasant.
