If you were running engineering, what would you use instead? How would you determine salaries and bonuses?
Going by completely subjective metrics is pretty unfair, everyone has some amount of bias.
- closeparen 6y agoHuman judgement. A manager stupid enough to be worse at evaluating engineers than metrics are would struggle to keep himself fed and warm, and is therefore not a realistic threat.
