I don’t think it’s necessarily low self esteem. Some people just like to hear others opinions, and then have a gut reaction if they agree or not. And like Someone else said, some people may feel good about themselves but feel a little insecure about these horrific scars. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to at least know what a consensus of other folks think, and then make your own decision
