KFC restaurant that drives autonomously
- WrtCdEvrydy 6y ago5G on the top? That's gonna be someone burning this down because it gives them COVID for sure.

- asd 6y agoWhat's stopping someone from swiping an extra bag of chicken tenders? This design has the same flaw as the newspaper vending machine box. Pay once, take a bunch. Perhaps people are more honest in Shanghai compared to Western countries.
- jdminhbg 6y agoI expect a combination of facial recognition and social credit score would deter theft pretty well.
- numpad0 6y agoPopulation density plays a role. You can’t do that in a Disneyland, for example.
- jdxcode 6y agoPresumably they could have a camera that charges for whatever you take, like Amazon Go stores
- poulsbohemian 6y agoI'm kind of assuming (but couldn't quite tell from the pics) that it's more like a mobile vending machine. That is, there is one area for storage and another for dispensing.
- shawnk 6y agoToo bad no one eats KFC anymore.
- acrefoot 6y agoThey do in China!
- rozab 6y agoIt'd be neat if there was a more attainable standard for certification of tiny autonomous vehicles which are unlikely to cause much damage. Would be great for food delivery.
- underseacables 6y agoI live in Los Angeles and I would love to see these roaming a neighborhood like the ice cream truck.
- robotburrito 6y agoWhat is the point of this thing? Aren't we rapidly going towards a future where a job is rare to come by? Why not just pay a dude to bike around and sell chicken. No software updates, no crazy backend to support it, is able to make quick decisions about where it should be to sell the most chicken, very little carbon footprint due to a guy literally using his own energy to ride a bicycle.
- bobthepanda 6y agoBecause in the US we’ve largely eliminated the low-space, low-rent food stand as a way for working class people to climb the ladder.
- ddmma 6y agoHow about personalised menu based on previous orders and fat recognition
