The key of course is to prevent violent conflict, but banning Facebook isn't gonna address the underlying causes of discontent, it'll just make things simmer under the surface until they explode into violence anyway. You're thinking about this from a prism of a country with a generally functioning, competent government (i.e. any rich Western country). Solomon Islands isn't that.
