Linus Torvalds wants Apple’s new M1-powered Macs to run Linux

• mikece 6y ago
Torvalds says: "[I] moved away from because it took Apple too long to fix the screen – and by the time they did, I’d moved on to better laptops, and Apple had moved on to make Linux less convenient." If he moved on to better laptop(s) why would he want to come back now? And is Boot Camp still a thing... wouldn't that do the trick and allow you to boot directly into Linux?

    >If he moved on to better laptop(s) why would he want to come back now? Because this is the best one regarding size/perfomance/silence (the 3 things he cares for) now... >And is Boot Camp still a thing... wouldn't that do the trick and allow you to boot directly into Linux? Boot Camp was the Windows drivers and setup program. It's not available in M1. And for Linux you need drivers for the graphics and other stuff. It will happen, just not now...
