- analog31 6y agoAren't all of the RPi's pin compatible with one another to some extent? Granted, it depends on what kind of hardware and what you're doing with it, but for my DIY stuff, I've preferred to create peripherals that use a microcontroller and interface via USB. This lets me program and test the peripheral on a desktop PC, and use it in both worlds if I want to. Plus, it's easy to spin up real time functionality on an MCU that's not trying to run a full blown OS. I use one of the many MCU boards that's programmed via the Arduino environment, but that's certainly not obligatory.
- regularfry 6y agoWhat gets me about the Zero is that dev for it has some really annoying roadbumps where the right answer always seems to be "patch the image" rather than providing what seem like fairly obvious things you'd want on a Zero-form-factor device. Is there much work coming out of the foundation to improve the Zero ecosystem, or do you think we've had our lot?
