I developed a contactless business card for the Covid era
- tawazz 6y agoThe world of networking does not stop for anyone, even during the pandemic. I developed Linkr to be a contactless business card that provides an easy way to share your contact details in-person or online and it saves your contact details directly into your clients phone. With the rise of robo calls and spam emails, it is important that your contact is in your clients phone. Many people are ignoring phone calls from numbers that are not in their contacts and some spam filters automatically treat your email as spam if it's not in contacts. With the Linkr smart business card you can save your contact details directly into your clients phone and when you call, your clients knows who is calling and your email is not treated as spam.
- beamatronic 6y agoDoes anyone remember Bump? It was one of the first iPhone apps in 2007. Simply bump your iPhones together and your contact info was shared.
- castillar76 6y agoAnd then before that, we had IR beaming of business cards. I remember doing that on Palm Pilots back in the day and thinking it was so neat.
- nemosaltat 6y agoYep, check your contacts. I still have a few that had “Added by Bump” in the notes section.
- treeman79 6y agoAnyone recall the palm pilots and black berries with the IR? Sales teams loved those.
- rasz 6y agoand Nokia phones. v.cards were a thing. Later we briefly had BT business cards, but that was quickly killed when smarter people looked into BT and discovered what a complete shit show that clown car of a standard is.
- k_sze 6y agoA few years ago, I just designed my own business card to include a QR code that encodes a vCard. No need for this NFC stuff (and it works for phones without NFC).
- 1996 6y agoNice but let me change the URL of the vCard to something I control (include an app to reprogram the NFC) and I may be interested. You may also want to add eink to show something - could be the QR with also a name etc.
- tawazz 6y agoThis does more than just a url to a vCard. Its a personal website thats is customisable and allows you to share your contacts, social media profiles, share your YouTube videos, sell products, share your portfolio or share anything.
- 1996 6y agoBut the URL is stored in NFC. Let me update that and I may buy.
