- flippinburgers 6y agoThe hilarious over-correction will be a hand size limit on the smaller instruments.
- dengsauve 6y agoI don't think this is specifically to give anyone an advantage, more like how there are differently sized guitars/violins/cellos for differently sized people.
- bsder 6y agoYour finger width will put a damper on this. Large hands generally go with wider fingers. The problem is that keyboard width is a function of soundboard width. Shrinking the keyboard likely also means shrinking the soundboard which has engineering tradeoffs. For electric stuff, though, I don't see an issue.
- spekcular 6y agoThe people advocating this have figured out how to place smaller keyboards in standard pianos so there's no loss of sound. (However, due to the increased angle of the keys to the levers that play the strings, some of the mechanism needs additional reinforcement to prevent breakage.)
