Nothing will come back, but maintenance/features(?) on code you and others wrote during a certain time period will continue - many companies are tepid about rewrites (as an example: a web app I wrote in 2013 for a company is still in production, but not used as much since most people use their phone app)
Something tells me I'll be riding out into the sunset doing a lot of JavaScript, Java, or C (I'm 52, been doing this fulltime since 1989).
- aniijbod 6y agoJust think, things like today's latest and hippest deep learning tools are possibly going to look like legacy skills long before most of us 'old timers' retire (do old coders ever really retire?)
