Unfortunately Wolfram Alpha does not know the area of the tip of a ballet shoe.
- throwaway_pdp09 6y agoNor do I, nor I imagine many others, which makes this supposedly layman friendly term a wide miss.
- _Microft 6y ago~2cm x 5cm seems reasonable for the tip of a ballet shoe, so I'd say about 10 to 15cm^2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointe_shoe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointe_shoe
- dogma1138 6y agoThat part of a pointe shoe is called the platform it’s size and shape varies greatly based on the type and size of the shoe and the box (the part of the shoe where your toes sit in). For most pointe shoes with a rounded platform there is much less than 10cm squared of contact.
- unnouinceput 6y agoYou can safely assume a tip of a ballet shoe has around 2 x 2 cm so 4 square centimeters as area.
