Ask HN: What's the best low latency local windows to Mac streaming solution?
I want to start using my hackintosh again but while parallels performance is commendable, it isn't good enough for my liking. I have a local network where hackintosh is connected by ethernet while my windows thinkpad is connected by wifi (though I'm consdering a usb c to ethernet adapter to make things even faster) on a fairly decent router.
I have 2 4k monitors.
I tried both windows remote desktop and jump desktop and they didn't really cut it. Is there anything faster?
- jakelazaroff 6y agoShameless plug, the company I work for makes a really low-latency remote desktop app. We originally built it for gaming, but a lot of people use it for creative work as well. It supports dual monitors! https://parsecgaming.com https://parsecgaming.com
- sigmaprimus 6y agoIt says hosting is only possible on windows 8.1+ machines. It is unclear if OP wants to remotely view Hackintosh or Laptop, I read it as wanting to control Hackintosh using laptop.
- rajlego 6y agofortunately, it's the other way around. I want to use windows from the hackintosh
- rajlego 6y agoshameless plug appreciated! latency is definitely wonderful! the main thing I want to figure out now is how to get 4k to transmit cleanly with parsec. It looks like quality is being reduced though bandwidth should be plenty.
