I want M1 MacBook Pro _without_ TouchBar
- Siira 6y agoThe touchbar can be pretty good if you reprogram it, using, e.g., Bettertouchtool. I now put use it as a combination of information dashboard and system-level control switches (audio volume, internet proxy, my own low-power mode, ...). BTT’s touchbar clipboard manager is also phenomenal.

- longnguyen 6y agoNothing wrong. But the Pro is slightly better in term of performance[1] (due to the fan I guess). As reviewed by John Gruber[2], looks like it's not really a fan but "active cooling system" - very quiet. It would be perfect for me if there exists a MacBook Pro without TouchBar. Otherwise I guess I will go with the M1 MacBook Air. TouchBar might be useful for others but is beyond useless to me.
