Forget partisan BS for a second, shouldn't we as a technical community be demanding for these voting machine software companies to release all metadata associated with the elections? We all know the data combined with the metadata can paint a pretty accurate picture.
Why are they so afraid to release the data if there wasn't any shady business going on?
- threeseed 6y agoWhat extra metadata are you referring to ? We already know the votes and times so I would hope that is the full extent of data collected by the voting machines.
- jb775 6y agoVoting machines are computers. Every computer has tons of logs stored all over the place. Printing out ballots creates logs, processing ballots creates logs, receiving/sending data creates logs, uploading/downloading data creates logs. The servers managing all incoming/outgoing vote data has logs, loading the votes into other software creates logs. The ISP transmitting the data has logs, etc, etc, etc. Why not gather all this metadata, and see if it aligns with the actual vote data?
