Not a CPU geek. Would an ARM laptop beat a say, 500 or 1000 USD Intel laptop in performance and price? Can Samsung or Lenovo make a Air competitor?

- HatchedLake721 6y agoIt already does since public benchmarks released yesterday. Not only Intel laptops, but M1 with 7-8W power drain in single-threaded performance beats or just trails in some benchmarks against a desktop class $799 Ryzen 9 5950x at +49W power drain. Can they make an Air competitor? As far as I understand, not today.
- aitchnyu 6y agoShould have specified a non-Apple ARM laptop. Cant edit that mistake.
