Apple Drops App Store Fees to 15% for All Small Developers
- Crazyontap 6y agoThis is huge news. I hope they also make the registration fees one time instead of yearly. P.S. Hope Google also follows suit.
- FerretFred 6y ago> registration fees one time Yes please! This stops me buying(?) more apps than anything else.
- antihero 6y agoAre they doing it as an instant jump past the fist 1mill, or more like bracketing, so that your first $1m is at 15% and anything on top of that is at 30%? I think that would make much more sense.
- pwinnski 6y agoIt's per developer, so any developer with < $1m of revenue per year stays at 15%, while any develop that cross that line switches into the 30% bracket, presumably forever.
- pwinnski 6y agoOh, I see now, not "forever," but after falling back below the $1m mark, a develop has to re-apply.
- alfonsodev 6y agoForever? It used to be 30% during first year and after that 15% for everyone, I'm assuming that still stands.
- doggosphere 6y agoYou might be thinking about subscriptions (versus consumable in app purchases)
- pwinnski 6y agoI think that's for subscriptions only?
- mathfailure 6y agoI couldn't care less.

- anshumankmr 6y agoObviously, they are doing it to avoid a potential anti trust lawsuit.
- effingwewt 6y agoWhich instantly shows just hoe urgently the case needs to move forward. Companies are now the bullies of the world. They make the rules and take what they want until they are stopped. The only way to stop all this anti-consumer nonsense is to stop letting them make the rules. Go back to lobbying, regulatory capture and corruption being evil instead of the norm. I wonder what the 122 million spent in lobbying for prop 22 could have done if it had gone to the workers in the form of compensation or insurance or something.
