Ars Technica on the Big Sur firewall issue
- garyrob 6y agoQuestion: suppose you're a user who does not use something like Lulu to monitor traffic, and does not use firewall settings that close the ports Apple uses. Then, does this Big Sur issue make any difference to you? Wouldn't malicious software be able to exploit the same Apple processes that malicious outside server? My understanding is that in Catalina, you could block the relevant ports, but you would also break services in a way that the average user wouldn't do.
