ELI5: Some things that ARM can do in one instruction, can be done with multiple instructions on x86
- CyberDildonics 6y agoThat's absolutely not the conclusion here. One person thought that benchmarks were saying that the M1 had strong SIMD performance, but the reality is that cinebench (and in fact most renderers) doesn't use SIMD very effectively when looking at the whole process, and the assumption that it demonstrates SIMD performance is not correct.
