It doesn't matter how easy the concept is if the information it contains is not something I can estimate, and in the case of git all the power is coming from indirection, which is famously inestimable stuff. Can I use git like a simpleton? Absolutely. Can I gracefully recover from errors in its application? Nope, it never happens. It's a chainsaw and I ultimately have to solve the problem by using it like one.
