- totalZero 6y agoDo you consider IP addresses to be personal data? I do.
- valuearb 6y agoAgain, there is no evidence or even reason to believe they would store these IP addresses or any records of the OCSP requests (other than temporary logging for debugging purposes). It's not necessary to the feature, it goes against their privacy policies, it provides zero value for any Apple product, and storing them is a potentially serious PR or even legal risk. Apple isn't Google, ad revenue is such a tiny part of overall revenues it's not even quantifiable, while their brand is a huge part of customer purchasing decisions. At Google almost all revenues are Ad revenues. Any little bit of data can help you target ads better, and they are competing against Facebook which knows all about their users.
- varispeed 6y agoIP and behavioural data can identify you.
- valuearb 6y agoOnly if stored. Apple has said they don't store this info other than temporarily, and they have no reason or benefit from storing it.
