A good book that emphasizes how life doesn't need to stop when it gets cold is "There's No Such Thing as Bad Weather" by Linda Akeson McGurk. It focuses on parenting/kids, but some parts apply to pretty much everyone.
- fred_is_fred 6y agoI've heard numerous people make this assertion but they don't live in places with legit wind. In parts of the midwest and the rockies it's pleasant outside until the wind hits. Last Saturday Denver area had 30-40 mph sustained winds and higher gusts. There's no ability to eat outside in those conditions - and if you suggest a tent, well you may as well be inside then.
- mattbk1 6y agoI live across the river from North Dakota, I'm not discounting wind :-) My comment wasn't necessarily to suggest that everyone eat outside all the time, just that "bad weather" can depend a lot on your mindset.
- fred_is_fred 6y agoI once at outside in Orlando in January due to a 45 minute table wait. "Are you sure?" the hostess asked me again. It was 65 degrees.
