After you are setup there, http://bugs.python.org/ http://bugs.python.org/ is the bug tracker. Bugs are sorted newest first, and there are a bunch of queries on the left side of the page, plus a query builder. The search feature works fairly well, and I sometimes suggest that people search modules they are comfortable with. If you use zipfile a lot, search it, and you'll find 46 issues.
In addition to that stuff, as Jesse mentioned in one of the responses, http://pythonmentors.com/ http://pythonmentors.com/ is the mentor site. There's a mailing list you're more than welcome to join should you have any questions, comments, or anything about the process. We can help you get setup, help you figure out what to work on, and help you successfully contribute your work.
