I consider myself very left, but am also strongly persuaded by David Graeber's bullshit jobs. I think you will also enjoy "Rentier Capitalism: Who Owns the Economy, and Who Pays for It?". It helped me understand some of the "unfairness" I perceived but could not quantity in words. The premise is that western economies are now set up for those who can extract rents. The eye opener is just how many things can be considered rent seeking, from winning contracts to exploiting mineral leases.
